Keeping the little ones sane this Halloween

This Halloween make sure your little ones don't end up in bed with a tummy ache after eating too much sugar and pizza before they go out Trick or Treating.....

Fill them up with a healthy bowl of soup or a homemade chicken stew full of sweet potato, carrots, butternut squash, garlic, leeks and celery with a good pinch of turmeric.

Turmeric has also always played an important role in traditional Eastern cultures and Ayurvedic medicine, known for its anti-inflammatory compounds.

The news is full of how sugar causes inflammation, we all see the sugar rush and crash our little ones have after a bowl of ice-cream or a some birthday cake, therefore adding some turmeric to their supper this evening will help reduce any flammation.

Why not fill your sweet bowl full of mini bags of popcorn, or some satsumas with scary pumpkin faces. Frozen bananas double up as ghost lollipops and really do taste like vanilla ice cream - just chop them in half and pop them on a stick and freeze. Draw a face with icing and hey presto - a fab Halloween treat that wont send them into a sugar frenzy.
