Boost your Immunity

At this time of year we all start getting the sniffles and coughs start appearing.. the crazy morning rush, the school run if you are a mum or just working long hours after your summer holiday. It is really important to ensure your immunity is working to its maximum potential.

If there is one supplement I would recommend, and only because it is very difficult to get your daily requirement from food (12 eggs per day anoyone!), is Vitamin D. Between October and April, those of us living in the UK are just not going to get enough Vitamin D from the sun. I like to use DLux3000 from Betteryou.com which at around £7.99 is not going to break the bank.

It is also important to fill up on colourful fruit and vegetables... high in antioxidant, vitamins and minerals, we should be aiming for 10 portions a day. Difficult? No - adding extra vegetables to your usual repertoire of family foods is one of the easiest ways to boost your intake.

Above is macaroni cheese, with butternut squash, peas, spinach and my secret ingredient, a whole cauliflower steamed and blended with Parmesan (use vegan cheese if diary is an issue) as a replacement for Bechemal sauce - and another vegetable ticked off the list.

Always try to eat a rainbow of fruit and vegetables daily
